Hi
The purpose of this forum is to help people find their lost or missing Indoor-Only Cats. Please read info on how to locate a missing indoor-only cat at catsinthebag.org.
If you have further questions, post them in this forum by following the steps below. Please follow this format, so it is easy for others to respond and remember your case.
First, register with ezboard here.
After you have registered:
1) Click on the New Topic button at the top right (and bottom right) of this page.
2) In the Subject line, create a unique title which will help others remember your case.
For example: Kitty Snowball missing March 14, 2003
(Rather than: "Lost Cat!" which is too general.)
3) In the body of your message, copy and paste the text below and answer the profile questions:

Is your cat friendly to only a few special humans and special cats? Or is your cat friendly / neutral to most visitors and new cats? How does your cat behave with strangers or new cats? Seems more bonded to humans or cats?
Was your cat feral at one time or born to a feral mom?
Date missing:
Circumstances of cat missing:
Has cat ever been outside or missing previously? Describe behavior when outside:
What is the most frightened that you have ever seen your cat? Describe the circumstance, describe your cat's behavior, how long did it take for cat to recover.
Describe the area where your cat first became missing:
Describe the area and direction that your cat was last seen heading:
Any predators in area: coyotes, aggressive dogs, etc?
Any positive sightings? Does sighting seem solid?
Any health problems?
What is your cat's favorite food? Wet or dry? Meat or Fish?
What methods of locating cat have you tried so far:
If you are trapping, please describe your trapping routine: time that you set trap, time that you bring it in, do you cover trap or uncover trap, what food bait do you use, is that your cat's favorite food, how much food do you dribble, describe the locations you are trapping and why you think locations would be attractive to cat.
All responses to the topic starter should be in the same thread unless it is addressing a more general question. This way, all the case details are in one place and at any time a pet detective or poster with experience in this area can jump in with all the facts easily available, so they can respond to each case appropriately.
Thank you,
Pauline (moderator mizmeowski)
